Mumbai, Jan. 16 -- The run-up to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election results witnessed fresh political upheaval after the Election Commission (EC) issued a notice to former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar over allegations of filing a false affidavit during her nomination.
The action follows a complaint lodged earlier this month by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, who accused the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader of deliberately withholding information about her alleged links to criminal investigations. The complaint refers to cases related to the COVID-19 body bag scam and alleged irregularities in Slum Rehabilitation Authority projects.
