Latur, Feb. 2 -- Latur district politics has been rocked by serious allegations of extortion, triggering a sharp war of words between Congress MLA Amit Deshmukh and BJP MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar.
Amit Deshmukh has made explosive claims, alleging that there is not a single government office in the Nilanga constituency from which illegal "hafta" (extortion money) does not reach MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar. Describing the allegations as extremely serious, Deshmukh has directly targeted Nilangekar, intensifying political tensions in the district.
