Srinagar, April 6 -- In a major success against the drug menace, Police in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district conducted a series of coordinated overnight raids, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of narcotic substances.

The recovery was made from three residential houses in Wantrag village, under the jurisdiction of the Police Station Mattan.

Police recovered over 30 kg of charas powder during a series of coordinated raids in Wantrag village. Acting on specific inputs, police said they seized 23.33 kg from the residence of Jehangir Ahmad Khan, 3.67 kg from Reyaz Ahmad Khan, and 3.9 kg from Nowshad Pathan.

"The accused persons were arrested," police said.
