Budaun (UP), Jan. 16 -- Tension gripped Gram Byor of the Islamnagar police station area in Budaun district after police stopped a Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) being taken out during the Hindu calendar month of Magh, calling the route "disputed."The devotees on Friday claimed that Prabhat Pheri had been taken out through the same route for the past 50 years. The situation escalated, forcing the police to resort to a lathi-charge, in which several villagers were reportedly injured and admitted to the Community Health Centre for treatment.
