Srinagar, Oct. 8 -- Police conducted searches at the residences of individuals linked to the banned Hurriyat and Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in the Handwara subdistrict of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said the searches conducted yesterday were targeted at the residence of Ghulam Hassan Khan of Maidan Chogol, linked to the banned Hurriyat, and Abdul Ahad Lone of Wahipora, associated with the proscribed Jamaat.
"These searches were conducted as part of ongoing investigations to ascertain the involvement of the individuals in activities that may threaten peace and public order," police said.
