Varanasi, Feb. 28 -- A peaceful march was organized to ''Gherao'' the PRO office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kashi to protest the arrest of Indian Youth Congress workers as part of the "PM Compromise" program organized on Saturday under the aegis of the Varanasi City Youth Congress.
However, the police stopped the workers outside the Congress office in Maidagin and accepted their memorandum.
City Youth Congress president Chanchal Sharma stated that the workers had set out to proceed to the PM's PRO office in Jawahar Nagar, but a heavy police presence prevented them from proceeding further. Following democratic norms, the Youth Congress workers held placards with the Preamble of the Constitution.
