Guwahati, Feb. 11 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive in Assam on Saturday (February 14) on a day-long programme to inaugurate multiple infrastructure projects, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister will arrive at Chabua airbase in Dibrugarh and proceed to Moran to inaugurate the Advanced Emergency Landing Facility (AELF), the first highway-based AELF in the Northeast.
Built on a 4.2 km stretch of National Highway-37 (NH-2), the facility serves as a strategic dual-use infrastructure designed for the landing of aircraft during combat or disaster, enhancing security near the China border.
