Chandigarh, Jan. 29 -- In a major boost to Punjab's aviation infrastructure and industrial connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the Halwara International Airport on February 1. The announcement was confirmed by Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner (DC) Himanshu Jain following an inspection of the facility.

The Halwara Airport project, a long-standing demand of the region, is now fully complete and ready for operations.

Speaking to the media after reviewing the final arrangements, DC Himanshu Jain stated that the district administration received a formal communication about the Prime Minister's virtual participation during his scheduled visit to Punjab.
