New Delhi, March 7 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the proposed airport in Kota through a virtual address, describing the project as a major step toward accelerating economic growth and connectivity across Rajasthan's Hadoti region.

Addressing the ceremony, Modi said the day marked "new hope and a new achievement" for the region comprising Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar. The airport project, estimated to cost about Rs 1,500 crore, is expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost trade and tourism once operational.
