Guwahati, Feb. 14 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Northeast's first highway-based Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) at Moran in Assam's Dibrugarh district, marking a major milestone in India's defence infrastructure and operational preparedness.

Arriving at the newly developed emergency runway aboard an Indian Air Force (IAF) C-130J Hercules, the Prime Minister was received by Himanta Biswa Sarma, union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and other senior leaders.

In a ceremonial welcome, Chief Minister Sarma presented the Prime Minister with an Assamese gamocha and japi, while Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh felicitated him with a commemorative memento.
