Port Louis/New Delhi, March 11 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a Banarasi silk saree in a Sadeli box to Mauritius First Lady Vrinda Gokhool, and gifted makhana, a traditional food from Bihar, to Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool, during their meeting in the State House in Port Louis today.
The Banarasi saree, originating from Varanasi, is known for its fine silk and zari work, while the Sadeli box from Gujarat features intricate inlay craftsmanship.
PM Modi also gifted holy water from the Sangam from the Maha Kumbh in a Brass and Copper Pot to Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool, as well as a Ganesha statue.
