Chennai, Jan. 23 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chennai on Friday afternoon ona short visit to the city to kick off the campaign of the NDA for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assemblyelections.

Upon arrival from Thiruvananthapura after his Kerala visit, Mr Modi was accorded a warm receptionby top BJP State Unit Leaders and union Ministers.

After a brief reception, Mr Modi left the Chennai airport to Madurantakam, about 110 km here, by ahelicopter, to address the election rally of the NDA.
