PM asks Uttarakhand bound pilgrims to keep Himalayas clean
Dehradun Apr 22 (UNI) As the pilgrimage to Kedarnath set off today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand to keep Himalayas clean, avoid single-use of plastic, buy local products and maintain sanctity of the four shrines including Gangotri, Yamunotri and Badrinath.Modi's appeal was part of a message sent to the state government with greetings for the start of annual Chardham Yatra 2026 on April 19 and opening of Kedarnath temple's portal today.In his five-point appeal to the pilgrims, Modi asked them to maintain cleanliness at the shrines, keep rivers clean with a pledge to avoid single-use plastic to preserve the sanctity of devbhumi.Modi asked pilgrims to respect the fragile Himalayan ecosystem and join hands...
