Ch. Sambhajinagar, Feb. 3 -- A major accident was averted at Ch. Sambhajinagar on Tuesday after a helicopter scheduled to ferry Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Environment Minister Pankaja Munde developed a technical snag, prompting the pilot to cancel the flight before take-off.
According to officials, the technical fault was detected during preparations for departure from the Ch. Sambhajinagar helipad as Munde was scheduled to travel to Latur as part of her tour in connection with the Zilla Parishad election campaign in the Marathwada region. Sensing the malfunction before take-off, the pilot took a precautionary call to abort the flight in view of security and safety considerations.
