Guwahati, Jan. 13 -- Performance will be a major criteria for the ruling BJP while distributing tickets for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said this while adding that the party will give tickets to those sitting MLAs who have performed well.
"We are not going to target constituencies, but our focus will be on the candidate's merit and public mandate this time. We are leaving it to the voters; they would judge the candidates based on performance. We will give tickets, and people will vote after judging the merit of the candidates. We have faith that the people will vote for us to form the government," Sarma said.
