Hyderabad, Feb. 17 -- Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, on Monday stressed that Peace Committees play a pivotal role in preserving communal harmony and maintaining law and order, and should act as a strong bridge between the police and the public to build a crime-free society.

Addressing a coordination meeting of the Central Peace and Welfare Committee at the Telangana Integrated Command Control Centre Auditorium, Banjara Hills, the Commissioner described Hyderabad as a living example of 'Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb' and called upon citizens to collectively safeguard the city's tradition of brotherhood and harmony.
