Agartala, March 29 -- A delegation of Press Council of India (PCI) on a three-day visit to Tripura interacted with as many as eight journalists' organisations and discussed issues related to protection of media with Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar and Director General of Police V S Yadav and advised the government to appoint a 'Nodal Officer' to deal with media related issues.

The three-member PCI delegation, formed to define guidelines for the protection and safety of media, said it was travelling across Northeast and Jammu and Kashmir to understand the ground situation of journalists and media in the region.
