New Delhi, April 13 -- Delhi Police arrested a parole jumper and proclaimed offender who had been evading arrest for over seven years after being convicted in a brutal attempt-to-murder case, an officer said on Monday.
The accused, a 50-year-old man, Vijay Kumar, was apprehended in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, following sustained technical surveillance and intelligence-based operations.
Police said the case dates back to June 18, 2012, when an incident of attempted murder was reported at Seemapuri police station.
According to the complaint filed by Akshay Kumar, the accused, who happens to be his father, had attacked his wife while she was asleep following a domestic dispute.
