Visakhapatnam, Sept. 17 -- The Parliamentary Committee on Women Empowerment, headed by Dr Heena Vijay Kumar Gavit visited the Eastern Naval Command (ENC), here on Friday.
The committee, along with officials of the Lok Sabha/ Rajya Sabha Secretariat, were given an overview of the Naval Operations and women in the Indian Navy, an official release said here.
On arrival, the Parliamentary Committee members paid homage to the naval personnel who made the supreme sacrifice, in the line of duty to the nation at the 'Smaram Sthal' Memorial in Naval Dockyard and were given a guided tour of the indigenously built stealth Frigate INS Satpura, a guided missile Corvette INS Kora and a submarine.
