Chamba, Jan. 22 -- A severe financial squeeze in Himachal Pradesh has begun to directly affect welfare beneficiaries, with the Pangi treasury withholding payments for months, allegedly depriving children of the state of their entitled monthly honorarium under the Chief Minister's flagship Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashraya Scheme.
Raising the issue, BJP MLA Hans Raj stated that the Pangi treasury has not cleared bills related to the Sukh Ashraya Scheme for the past eight to nine months.
Under the scheme, children of the state, including orphans, are entitled to a monthly assistance of Rs 4,000.
