Ahmedabad, April 21 -- Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya today offered a pointed clarification on Jasprit Bumrah's new-ball usage, brushing aside speculation and underlining that the team's tactical approach around the premier fast bowler is deliberate rather than a deviation.
Addressing questions over why Jasprit Bumrah has not regularly opened the bowling, Hardik said the decision should not be over-interpreted, stressing that it has occurred only on a limited number of occasions.
"People keep asking why Jassi hasn't bowled with the new ball, but he hasn't done it maybe seven or eight times, so it is not a Hardik Pandya problem, it is Jassi being special," he said, putting emphasis on role clarity within the attack.
