Islamabad/Kabul, Oct. 30 -- Pakistan's Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, today announced that the four-day talks with the "Afghan Taliban regime" in Istanbul had failed to yield any results, reigniting hostilities.
Although the Taliban have not yet commented on the failure of the talks, Tarar accused the Taliban delegation of evading key issues and echoing Defence Minister Khwaja Asif's statement, declared that Islamabad would take "all necessary measures" to protect its citizens.
Accusing the Taliban of aiding and abetting the militant-separatist groups in Pakistan's frontier areas since their return to power in Kabul, he said that Islamabad has repeatedly engaged with the regime on the issue of cross-border terrorism.
