Islamabad, March 26 -- Pakistan Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has heavily criticised the country's prime political opposition group, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), of betraying national interest for political gains after former premier Imran Khan's son Kasim Khan raised the issue of his father's incarceration and alleged mistreatment by prison authorities, at the UN Human Rights Council.

Coming down on the opposition party, Tarar said that while political disagreements were fine, they must not come at the expense of national interests or portray the nation in a bad light internationally.
