Islamabad, Nov. 28 -- Pakistan's Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb has pledged that the government will address all the problems plaguing its treasury, as highlighted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and expressed the hope to reach an agreement with the lending agency.

Stating that reforms were a need of the hour, Aurangzeb said Islamabad will strive to remove them. Pakistan is working to secure its next $1.2 billion bailout package next month, extended under the body's $7bn Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

"These are points identified by the IMF that require action, and we will work to resolve them," Aurangzeb told Geo News on Nov 27, expressing confidence that Pakistan will succeed in reaching a staff-level understanding.
