New York/New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- India today asserted that Pakistan military had ''pleaded directly'' (with India) for cessation to the fighting (during Operation Sindoor) and rubbished Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharief's claim that US President Donald Trump had brought the war to an end.
Ms Petal Gahlot, First Secretary in India's Permanent Mission to the U.N., while exercising India's Right of Reply in the U.N. General Assembly, said Pakistan Prime Minister had advanced a ''bizarre account'' of the recent conflict with India.
''The record on this matter is clear. Till 9 May, Pakistan was threatening more attacks on India. But on 10 May, its military pleaded with us directly for a cessation to the fighting,'' she said.
