Chennai, Sept. 28 -- Expressing profund grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of 40 lives ina stampede at his political rally in Karur last night, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Founderand actor-politician today announced a solatium of Rs 20 lakh each to the families of thedeceased.
In a post on X, Vijay also announced Rs two lakh each to all those injured in the tragedy andundergoing treatment at Karur Government Medical College and private hospitals.
Vijay also cancelled his coming Saturday's campaign in view of the tragedy.
