Hyderabad, Jan. 23 -- The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, in coordination with Adilabad Police, seized stocks purported to be oxytocin injections intended for misuse in cattle at Adilabad, officials said on Friday.

According to the DCA, officials of the Adilabad Zone seized 109 unlabelled transparent PET bottles (200 ml), purported to be oxytocin injections, from one Mautho Aravind Kumar on January 22.

The accused allegedly stocked the injections illegally for sale, intended for misuse in dairy animals to artificially increase milk production. Officials cautioned that such unauthorised use of oxytocin could have adverse effects on animal health.
