Hyderabad, Dec. 27 -- : The Hyderabad City Police reported a 15 per cent reduction in overall crime across the Commissionerate in 2025, attributing the decline to proactive field policing, improved investigative practices, and data-driven crime analysis.

During the year, 30,690 cases recorded under BNS, SLL and other laws, compared to 35,944 cases in 2024, according to the annual crime statistics report released by Hyderabad Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar here on Saturday.

Despite increasing crime slightly against women, rape cases declined by 31 per cent, with 405 cases reported in 2025 compared to 584 cases in 2024. Dowry death cases also recorded a notable decline.
