Shimla, May 12 -- The nomination process for the general elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions in Himachal Pradesh concluded today with a total of 79,676 nomination papers filed across the state, according to the State Election Commission.
State Election Commission Secretarty Surgeet Rathore said that Monday was the last date for filing nominations under the election schedule notified on April 29, 2026.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out on May 12 by the concerned Returning and Assistant Returning Officers from 10 am onwards.
Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on May 15, following which election symbols will be allotted, he informed.
