Hyderabad, July 29 -- National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairperson Justice V Ramasubramanian on Tuesday revealed that over 34,685 cases are currently pending with the Commission.

Addressing a press conference at the Dr. MCR Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad during the Commission's two-day camp sitting, Justice Ramasubramanian said the NHRC has been actively taking suo motu cognizance of human rights violations across the country.

"In 2021, we took up 17 such cases. The number rose to 60 in 2022, 107 in 2023, and 105 already in 2024. By mid-2025, it has already crossed 50," he said.
