Mumbai, Jan. 5 -- The final deadline for affixing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on vehicles registered before April 1, 2019, expired on December 31, 2025, leaving more than 27 lakh vehicles across Maharashtra without the mandatory plates.

According to the state transport department, although nearly one crore applications have been received so far, HSRP fitment has been completed on only about 73 lakh vehicles, while the remaining applicants are still awaiting appointments and installation.
