Dharamshala, Sept. 26 -- A review meeting of various schemes of the Jal Shakti Department was held today at Jal Bhawan in Dharamshala under the chairmanship of Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania.
It was informed during the meeting that the Sukhahar Medium Irrigation Scheme, being implemented at Rs 213 crore, will provide irrigation facilities to farmers in Jawali, Shahpur, and Dehra constituencies. The scheme is expected to irrigate about 2,186 hectares of land, benefiting nearly 24,120 farmers.
Pathania said that in Shahpur's Changer area, four panchayats covering 10 villages will also be brought under irrigation, benefiting around 2,000 farmers across 337 hectares of land.
