Patna, Jan. 12 -- Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Monday that a total of 2,665 children from economically weaker families have so far undergone successful surgery and treatment under the Chief Minister Bal Hriday Yojana.

Pandey said here that the Health Department is highly sensitive towards serious and congenital diseases affecting children. To address this, the state government is implementing the Chief Minister Bal Hriday Yojana, aimed at early identification of children suffering from congenital heart diseases and providing them free and proper treatment, thereby relieving poor families of heavy financial burden.
