Washington, Feb. 24 -- More than 2,000 flights were canceled across the United States on Tuesday as a major winter storm continued to disrupt travel, according to the flight-tracking website FlightAware.
"Total cancellations within, into, or out of the United States today: 2,026," the portal said, adding that another 700 flights were delayed.
Airports in the Northeast were hit particularly hard. Up to half of scheduled flights were canceled at John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and Boston Logan International Airport.
