New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- India generated 13.97 lakh tonnes of electronic waste in the financial year 2024-25, up from 12.54 lakh tonnes the previous year, according to data shared by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Government told Parliament today.
These include discarded mobile phones, computers and all types of batteries - electric vehicle, portable, automotive, and industrial, said Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, sharing data made available by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
