New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- In a major voter outreach initiative ahead of Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India has launched an extensive EVM/VVPAT Awareness Campaign across five poll-bound States and union Territories - Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal - with more than 1.20 lakh electors already participating in demonstrations as of February 10, 2026.
According to an official press note issued by the Commission, the campaign aims to familiarise voters with the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units, while enhancing transparency and public confidence in the electoral process.
