Ottawa, April 6 -- Ottawa police announced the detention of a man who had previously barricaded himself in the Canadian Parliament; no casualties or injuries were reported.
"The barricaded man call at East Block has ended without incident. One man is in custody," the police said on X.
The police also announced that they were investigating the incident. Details of the incident will be presented later, it added.
Ottawa police previously said that an unknown man had barricaded himself in the Canadian Parliament building in Ottawa.
According to the police, the incident began before 3:00 p.m. local time (19:00 GMT on April 5). The parliament building was evacuated.
