Bhubaneswar, Feb. 6 -- The Orissa High Court has directed the State Government to constitute a state-level taskforce to prevent the improper depiction of the national emblem, an adaptation of the Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath.
The Division Bench of Justices Harish Tandon and Manash Ranjan Pathak issued the order while adjudicating a petition by civil society group Alone Trust, which highlighted repeated errors in the emblem's use.
The Court expressed concern over improper depictions in public buildings, including court precincts, and flagged specific instances such as the absence of the motto "Satyameva Jayate" at Indira Gandhi Park, Bhubaneswar, and mistakes in the Odisha tableaux during the 75th Republic Day Parade in 2024, where th...
