Bhubaneswar, Feb. 18 -- The Odisha Assembly witnessed high drama on Wednesday as Opposition members from the BJD and Congress stalled proceedings over the ongoing paddy procurement crisis and the alleged plight of farmers.
Repeated disruptions forced Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House for the day without conducting any business.
Trouble began during Question Hour shortly after the House assembled at 10:30 am. Agitated Opposition members rushed to the well of the House holding banners and placards, raising slogans against the government and accusing it of mismanaging paddy procurement in mandis across the state.
