Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 6 -- The Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) on Thursday accused the Kerala government of deliberately derailing the investigation into the Sabarimala gold theft case, alleging illegal interference by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) to protect an influential accused.

Warning that the probe has reached a "dangerous stage," Opposition leaders said key accused are being released on bail while those yet to be arrested remain outside the scope of the investigation.
