Bengaluru, March 4 -- Only 18 of the 283 residents of Karnataka stranded in conflict-hit West Asia have returned home so far, the state government said, highlighting the scale of the crisis facing families across the southern Indian state.

According to official figures released by the Karnataka government, while 18 individuals have safely arrived back, as many as 265 remain stuck in various Gulf countries amid flight disruptions and regional instability.
