Gondia, Dec. 5 -- A woman died and 43 passengers were injured after a travel vehicle collided with a stationary truck on National Highway-53 near Dhobisrad in Deori taluka of Maharashtra's Gondia district on Friday, police said.
According to police, the Raipur-to-Nagpur travel vehicle rammed into a truck that had been parked on the highway after running out of fuel. The truck reportedly had no indicator lights or warning signs displayed.
Police said the travel vehicle, moving at high speed, failed to detect the stationary truck, resulting in a severe impact.
Local residents rushed to the scene upon hearing the passengers' cries for help and assisted in rescuing the injured.
