Kozhikode, Sept. 11 -- A 47-year-old man, Shaji of Chelembra in Malappuram district, who had been undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (KMCH), succumbed to amoebic meningitis today.
The total number of deaths has risen to six within a month, including two reported this week at KMCH. Meanwhile, 11 more patients are undergoing treatment for the same disease in the district, 10 at KMCH and one at a private hospital in Kozhikode. One patient remains in critical condition as of this morning, sources said.
