Raebareli, April 3 -- An accident occurred on the Raebareli-Dariyapur railway section on Friday when two men were struck by the Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22549).
The incident took place at around 11:45 AM, near kilometer number 107/09, resulting in the death of one person and leaving the other critically injured.
According to officials, the train was traveling from Gorakhpur to Prayagraj when it hit the two victims, identified as Meraj (30), son of Idris, and Allan Ghosi (50), son of Shakoor.
Both were residents of Naya Purwa under Kotwali police station in Raebareli.
Preliminary reports suggest that the two men were attempting to cross the railway track in haste when they were hit by the high-speed train.
