New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government of Bangladesh in Dhaka on February 17, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, Birla will attend the ceremony of the government led by Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, following the party's victory in the recent elections.
"Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government of Bangladesh led by H.E. Mr. Tarique Rahman in Dhaka on February 17," the foreign ministry said.
