Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- Odisha Vigilance has arrested Ambika Prasad Rath, an auditor in the office of the Regional Director of Education (RDE), Bhubaneswar, on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a college staff member.
The bribe was allegedly taken to facilitate the release of pay under the MACP scheme.
According to Vigilance sources, Rath is being produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
Following the trap operation, Vigilance teams carried out simultaneous searches at his residence in Madhusudan Nagar, Bhubaneswar, as well as his office chamber.
During the searches, officials recovered and seized cash amounting to Rs.28,70,900. This included Rs.27,42,900 found at his residence and Rs.1,28,000...
