Bhubaneswar, Feb. 3 -- Odisha Vigilance officials on Tuesday arrested Pradesh Prasad Nayak, a Junior Engineer (JE) of Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) posted in Malkangiri, on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000 from a brick factory owner in exchange for providing an electricity connection to the unit. Nayak's associate, Bhanjakishor Swain, a private individual, was also arrested in connection with the case. The vigilance team recovered the bribe amount from their possession.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at two locations linked to Nayak to investigate allegations of disproportionate assets.
