Bhubaneswar, May 6 -- Odisha will conduct civil defence mock drills across 12 districts on Wednesday to prepare for potential wartime situations, Director General of Fire and Emergency Services Sudhanshu Sarangi announced on Tuesday.

According to official sources, sirens will be sounded for five minutes at various locations in Angul, Khordha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Puri, Koraput, and Sundargarh districts at 4 PM on Wednesday.

The mock drill will continue for a week, beginning with exercises in several urban areas of the state tomorrow. The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) will deploy sirens in coastal regions as part of the drill.
