Bhubaneswar, Feb. 10 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday set an ambitious target to provide piped drinking water to all villages in Odisha by March 2027, directing officials to complete ongoing projects on a mission mode to meet the deadline.
According to official sources, out of the state's 46,531 villages, 21,721 villages currently have access to piped water supply. Several initiatives, including solar-powered drinking water systems and mega drinking water projects, are presently under various stages of implementation to bridge the remaining gap.
