Bhubaneswar, Feb. 10 -- In a significant move to enhance emergency healthcare delivery across Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday announced that ambulance facilities will be arranged at airstrips in the state under the Biman Yojana.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of 250 new ambulances under the second phase at Kalinga Stadium here.
With the objective of improving the efficiency of ambulance services and ensuring patients reach hospitals in the shortest possible time, the Chief Minister dedicated the new fleet to the public.
At present, five Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are deployed at various airports in Odisha, while two ALS ambulances are stationed at the cancer hospital in Jharsuguda.
